Welcome to Curborough Curborough is a proposal for a new self sustaining settlement, located to the North-east of Lichfield, Staffordshire, which could make a substantial contribution to accommodating the new homes required by Lichfield District Council by 2026. The Curborough new settlement proposal was first submitted as a planning application to Lichfield District Council on 27 March 2008. Since then, there have been on-going discussions with Lichfield District Council and other Statutory Stakeholders. The application is likely to go to committee in 2010. The new settlement would provide a self -sustainable community that will include shops, schools, a community hub, leisure facilities, and new transport infrastructure, including new roads and junction improvements to the A38. This new community will provide a range of homes, from starter homes, to four bedroom family homes. Approximately 30% of all the homes available will be affordable. The proposed site is located adjacent to a major employment area, Fradley Business Park, which currently provides around 3500 jobs (set to rise to around 7,000 when fully completed).
